Belly Rubbing…
For those of you who have been pregnant, I have one question. Do you like it when someone starts rubbing your belly? Here is my view of when you can…
1. If you are a close friend
2. If you ask me
3. If I tell you to feel the baby move
4. If you are family
This is why I ask…The other day I had a vendor come to the office. I was on the phone in my office trying to take care of a problem. The female vendor came on in and started rubbing my stomach in a circular motion! I was thinking. “WHAT are you doing?” I was so overcome with the fact that she had interrupted me and just assumed I was okay with it. I am dumbfounded that she would do that. I see this lady about 4 times a year. So when I hung up I went to the front office to finish taking care of this and she continues to tell me in front of all the other staff how much healhier I look. I don’t need someone telling me that I look healthier and fuller. YES I AM PREGNANT and YES I HAVE GAINED WEIGHT! Normal! Yes, you can say that I look great or cruddy…I don’t care. But please don’t go into detail!
Again, just my take on belly rubbing!
That’s east Tennessee for you. I remember perfect strangers doing that to my wife in stores; wait until the baby comes and people you don’t know at all try to snatch him/her right out of your hands.
