Motherhood and Beyond

I am beginning to wonder why turn signals, or as I say “blinkers”, were ever put in a vehicle.  One thing that drives me crazy is when I am following someone and they decide they want to turn and they do not put on the blinker.  This past weekend we were running errands in Knoxville.  As some of you know Peters Road next to Best Buy and Dick’s Sporting Goods are nothing but chaos on a Saturday or any time for that matter.  We wanted to turn left onto Peters Road and several cars across the road were trying to turn left or right.  Of course, we could not tell which way they wanted to go because why?  They did not have the blinker on.  So it feels like you are asking to die as you attempt to turn.  Another point…Those who drive through a neighborhood…no, police are not going to pull you over for not using the blinker.  But I may blow the horn at you if you don’t use it.  I can’t tell you how many times I have been following someone through our neighborhood and they decided they want to turn with no warning.  Do you want me to hit you?  Do you want it to be my fault?  I pay attention to my driving and to others around me.  I just want to know if people are so consumed with what they are doing that they don’t think of the others behind them?  Do I make sense?  Please use a blinker…they are there for a reason!
