Our Feline Friends….

I have to say “Friends” is a very nice term I am using to describe my cats, Kitty and Molly.  I would rather use the terms “Pests”, “Devils”, or something more explicit.  I will refrain and call them “Friends”.  Let me tell you what they decided to do this morning…

Today was the day the carpet people were coming to clean the carpet and clean/seal the tile.  So naturally, I have to put the cats up so they do not escape out the door.  Not a big deal, so I thought.  I have to put them in the garage and let them be comfortable in a hot room for a couple of hours.  Not a problem…WRONG!  I started to round them up about 8:40 a.m. by opening the door to the garage and let them make their way out there on their own.  Here is the first mistake, Molly has never been out there and she is skeptical.  She stands at the door and looks at it like, “It is hot, why should I go out there?”  Kitty is out there sniffing and doing whatever a normal cat does.  Next problem, carpet people show up and slam their truck doors…Cats take off inside!  Let the chase begin…off comes my sweater and shoes and hair goes in a ponytail (I am dressed for work).  Kitty runs up stairs to her “spot”.  (Under the TV stand amongst Craig’s box of cords and other things)  So I go get one of the men for help.  He is trying to capture Molly and I am trying to get Kitty.  He grabs some boxes to make a route to the garage for Molly but she is a cat, she jumps them.  I finally get Kitty and throw her in the smaller room within the garage.  One down, one more to go…Molly has resorted to hissing in the laundary room.  I let her calm down and try to gain her trust.  Here is another mistake, being the mother I am to these so-called cats, I go to the garage to get her the water bowl because she starts to pant and I think she is about to die.  I grab a dish towel and I am able to grab her.  AMEN!!!!  Out to the garage she goes!  One thing, I forgot to put her water back in the garage.  So I try to open the door to put it out and in she runs!  She made me spill water all over the floor…Tempers are flaring and tears are coming.  I AM only one month from delivery!  What am I thinking?  Why do I care about this stupid cat?  Molly is back in the laundary room behind the door hissing.  I am able to grab her with the towel again as she wedges herself in a corner.  I throw her out and get Kitty out of the smaller closet!  DONE!  NO MORE!  DO NOT OPEN THAT DOOR!  The time is now 9:20 a.m.

Carpet people call to tell me they are done a couple hours later.  I go home and let them back in the house…where are they?  I honestly cannot find them.  I start to panic and then realize they cannot get out.  Finally found Molly under the toolbox stuffed in a corner looking pitiful.  I don’t have sympathy.  Never found Kitty, I just left the door open to the kitchen and she appeared.  All in all, they are okay.  They did not die.  BUT, they are not my friends.

We will continue to have these cat stories…more to come later.

I don’t think cats are supposed to be pets, they have no appreciation for people.
