Anther First…

Today Eliana had another first.  It all started Friday…

We were on our way to Clemson for the football game against Duke.  I asked Craig to stop by the hospital so I could pick up an item.  I ran in and it took a little longer than I hoped.  When I came out, he said we had a dead battery.  Great!  But no problem, the hospital people came out with a battery pack and started us right up.  Saturday…after the game we tailgated with our friends and walked back to our car.  Got in the car, tried to start the car…NOTHING!  Luckily there were a few people left in the parking lot and one guy came to start us up.  It took several tries to get us going.  But once going, we were on our way home.  What is causing this problem?  The car is only 2 years old.  Sunday we decided to take Craig’s car to church.  This morning I was planning on calling Mazda to see if I could bring it in.  I went out to see if it would start and it did not.  So I called Roadside Assistance.  They sent out Pop-A-Lock.  Now, what was HE going to do?  He had a battery pack but I had my doubts.  His pack would not get us started.  Then he looked at his pack and said, “Wait, I think I have a short in this.”  WHAT?  A SHORT?  Well, get a back up.  I said, “Why don’t you pull your car up and jump me off?”  He looked at me stupidly.  But he did.  Still nothing.  He said, “Call a tow truck.”  Then he left.  So, I call Roadside Assistance again.  This time they say they will send a tow truck to get me to Knoxville.  After all of this, we finally get towed, yes, Eliana and I in the front seat of this truck all the way to Knoxville.  He made sure she was buckled in properly.  Off to Knoxville we go and the whole way there…he told me the story of his divorce.  Why me?  But I have to say, Dale was very nice.

So Eliana had her first tow truck ride.  Me? Not my first run in with a tow truck!

    Ms. Thomas,

I’m sorry that the Pop-A-Lock tech couldn’t get you going and you had to wait for the tow truck secondarily. We are usually much faster to respond than the ‘big units’ and can get folks going a lot quicker most times but sometimes we can’t.

We are sorry that you had a problem, but glad we had an opportunity to help you out.

Have a great day and I hope your car problems are all solved now!

I couldn’t help but laugh when I pictured you, Eliana, and Dale all cozy in the truck! I hope the dealership has a little more sense than Pop-A-Lock and that your car will be good as new in no time. Call me if you need a ride somewhere.

That was a very funny, but not funny at the same time, story! :) I’m glad that you arrived safely eventually at the dealership! Did you get pics of Eliana with the tow truck – or would you rather not remember it?
