My View of Black Friday
So yes, this is late. But I thought I would give you my perspective and view of Black Friday.
I have never been shopping on Black Friday. Growing up, we lived an hour away from any real shopping and I was not getting up early for it. Then while married, Craig and I are usually out of town and once again I was not going to travel an hour away for chaos. But this year was different…we were in town. After doing a little research on some items I realized that I could do this. I had a plan…go to Babies R Us. They had the Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Center for $49.99 instead $79.99. Great deal, right?! Well, I enlisted Craig to keep Eliana after I fed her at 6:30 a.m. I am already getting a late start compared to some. But still, I am going. I stop at McDonald’s for a quick chicken biscuit. (Which was very good I may add.) So off to Knoxville I go. My first stop is Babies R Us. I notice there are not many cars so I am in luck. But I still hurry in because I am thinking there are many crazy moms looking for this one item. Who would not, it looks like lots of fun! Yes, they had five of them and only two other people looking at it. I grab mine and realized I should have picked up a cart. The box was bigger than me, but I was determined. I had a record trip into Babies R Us of 5 minutes. I was not going to get sucked in by other cute and adorable over priced items. As I am getting in the car, I decide to go to TOYS R US! I wanted to see what the fuss and commotion was all about. All I have to say…THAT WAS STUPID!!!! People are nuts and insane when it comes to that store. I will not ever again go to that place on Black Friday. Getting back in the car I was still not ready to go home. I was enjoying freedom and had a little while to kill before Eliana’s next feeding. Wal-Mart..that is where I will go. Jenny, you are not thinking. Actually, it was not so bad. I went in, got what I needed, let the lady continue to break in line, checked out and left.
No, I did not shop all day. But I did have fun and enjoyed my time.
