Painting the Bedroom

Friday afternoon Craig and I decided we would spend Saturday painting our bedroom.  The original color was the builders beige and was drab.  So we decided to make it “Lyndhurst Stone”. Okay, deep khaki.  Saturday morning I went to Lowe’s to pick up the paint.  While waiting I saw a paint edger.  So I asked the guy if it worked.  He said, “If I sold it to 12 people, 6 would love it and 6 would say it was the worst ever.”  So for $2.48 I bought it.  Craig started out edging with it and I about lost him.  He was not thrilled.  So I decided to give it a try.  It worked okay…just okay.  The key is to NOT dip it fully into the paint.  Just barely touch into the paint.  But with that I had to keep touching it in the paint.  The Sales Associate said he could go around a door frame and part of the baseboard with it.  There is no way!  As we were painting and I climbed up the ladder, down the ladder, up the ladder, and down the ladder, Craig and I were trying to figure out ways to improve it.  We said to make it slimmer in design.  But honestly, there is nothing that can really help it.  Yes, it made trim work faster but it was not accurate.  I had to literally lay on the floor to do the baseboards.  The wheels do not sit flush with the baseboards.  So, I give this product a C.  Try it out and see what you think.

Oh yeah, the bedroom is painted and all is put back in place.  We like the look.

Oh yeah those things are a joke. We tried something else too that’s basically just a metal thing you hold up to the edge that worked OKAY but since we are about at the point that we’ve painted all the walls in the house (or so it seems) it’s easiest to just do free hand & then fix any uneven/spills later. :) Hope you guys are doing well. Where are these pictures of Christmas!? :) And we need to see how the paint job was too!

Those paint edgers are terrible. I tried one and it just made a smeary mess.
