Nine Month Check
Yesterday we had Eliana’s nine month check up. She gets a little more vocal each time we go. By vocal I mean screaming. She hates the weight machine and laying on the table. The first lady that weighed her did not zero out the scale so she weighed the same thing she did at 6 months. I told they lady this was not right but she did not listen to me. She insisted that she was right because that is what the scale read. IF she was correct, we would have a serious problem. The doctor came in and we chatted about her weight and he then took her to be weighed. Yes, I was correct in this. She weighs 17 lbs 1 ounce. He does want to check her weight each month. Hold your ears! Meanwhile, I am struggling to find stuff to feed her. He said to feed her more and whatever she wants. I sat in Wal-mart trying to figure out if I should go to Stage 3 foods. But, all the stage 3 is mixed foods and then I see Sweet Potato and Alaskan Salmon. REALLY? Come on, I don’t think so. So, one lady in there said to double up on Stage 2 and try a few of the stage 3 since most babies don’t like it. Also, to try some table foods. I am at a loss…
One cute thing she did…yesterday we were playing in her room after lunch. I knew it was getting closer to nap time. She crawled over to her crib and spotted her blanket between the slats of the crib. She starts to pull it through but does not get it all the way out. Then she holds the end of it and sucks her thumb with it tucked in her hand. She loves to have her blanket and thumb in mouth when she is sleepy. That was a definite sleep cue! It was cute.
