So hello fellow friends! It has been a while. Let me just say blogging has taken a back seat lately. Life has been moving along. The house is well under construction. You can read about it here. Ellie is growing leaps and bounds and I am amazed at what she is learning. Here are a few things she is doing now….

Not talking too much but sounding like she is putting sentences together. She can say “Do That” and “Again”.

Last night before prayer time she grabbed Craig and my hand and bowed her head to pray. Tears of Joy overwhelmed us both.

She likes to color and to see her name written.

She loves to give kisses and hugs

If You Are Happy and You Know It is her favorite song. She loves to sing and clap along to other songs.

She is INFATUATED with shoes!

She is learning to use a fork.

We just love her so much. She is so active and so much fun.

This morning I just fininshed my last day of the Study of Esther. Today at Bible Study we will watch the video. I am have been amazed at the story and treasure it in my heart. Even though God is not mentioned in the book, HE is all over the book. You can see HIS PROVIDENCE on each page. God has put us in certain circumstances “for such a time as this”. I know that if I wait on an event to happen, I will be zapped. But if I wait on the Lord my spirit will be strenthened and renewed (Is. 40:31). I know that if _______________ happens, I will praise my God with my inmost being and with every breath I have. It is amazing how many different ways the blank can be filled in. And how scared I am to fill it in. Because I think if I do fill it in, then it is real and will happen. Yes I have filled it in on the privacy of my heart and on the pages of my book. But I do know that GOD IS GOD and He will get all the praise and honor and glory. That I cannot deny. I may question it but I KNOW.

Craig and I are still living at his parents house while ours is under construction. Things are going well. We have been to Charleston for a week together. That was so nice. Craig had a class to take and I had a mini vacation. Ellie stayed with mom and dad. This past week Craig was in Orlando for another class and Ellie and I went to see my parents again. We had a great time. On the way home Ellie got sick in the car as soon as we got on I-85 in Atlanta. I started to panic and did what I could to get off to a gas station and get her cleaned up. It was just a one time deal. She then slept for a while while I fought the urge to be sick myself. Crazy how psychological that is. She was fine after we got home and bathed and ate. Yes I broke down in tears but I did the best I could.

So for now, I will do better to update. Also, check out the new link to Beth Moore’s blog.

Two weeks ago I was notified by Mazda that I needed new tires. Of course, I don’t fully trust the dealership so Craig and I went to Stevenson Tire to get a quote and opinion. These guys have been around and have taken care of us many times. They are great and very nice to deal with. They did confirm that I did need them but not as soon as Mazda said. So today I was driving to Knoxville in the rain, I decided it was time. I was nervous driving because I could feel the car sliding and traction control kicked in. I called Craig and he got the appointment set up. So after Ellie did not take her full nap, we headed on over. I had a blanket for Ellie to sit on since the floor is not the cleanest. As we sat there, this oriental guy comes in and then his dad comes in. I recognized the dad from our office but he did not recognize me. (And that was perfectly fine) They sat on both sides of me. There was plenty of other seats around. I felt trapped but just let it go. So the dad started to talk to Ellie and say how good HE was and how well behaved HE was. He asked how old HE was. I told him, “SHE is 13 months.” He proceeded with the HE. Then the son popped in and started talking in a foreign language to his dad. Now, I feel very uncomfortable in these situations. But he was talking his did that Ellie was a GIRL. His did could not believe it and felt horrible. I just chuckled.

Then the other day, a lady asked me if Ellie was a girl or boy. (I DO dress her in girl clothes.) I told her a girl, and she said, “Now a days you just can’t tell.” Which brings me to ask…At what point in life did people stop telling if they are boy or girl? Any thoughts or comments?

So last half of the week has been a long one. Started out Tuesday night with Eliana running a low grade fever and it spiking to 102.3 degrees during the night. I ended up sleeping with her in the recliner since whe was not willing to lay flat in her crib. During the night I was thinking of the first Bible Study I would miss Wednesday morning. We are starting A Heart Like His by Beth Moore. I have been excited about this for 2 weeks. About 6:00 a.m. Craig came through to tell me he was leaving for work (yes, that early) and said, “No question about it, I will be home at 9:00 so you can go to Bible Study.” As I got ready for the morning and the doctor called for a 10:00 appointment I decided to let Craig drive from Oak Ridge to keep her while I went. I am really glad I did. Normally, I would have fought him on this and told him that was crazy to drive and do that and then drive back and blah blah blah. For once, I just said OK and it was nice to do so. The study will be really good. There are 12 in it and that is a great size for this. Got home, Eliana has an ear infection. At least it is not the flu. Thursday rolls around and I start feeling poopy. I decide it is a sinus infection coming on and start the tylenol. Go to the doctor friday and he said probably right, no flu! YEAH!

Friday we head to Clemson with Eliana feeling better and mama feeling yucky but hanging in there. We had a great time at the tailgate with our usual crowd. We could not have asked for a more perfectly shaded spot in all of Clemson. Eliana had a good time playing and showing her limited skills to all. She did have a short nap…better than nothing. So we pack up to go to the game at 6:00. I missed kick off for a reason and Craig has Eliana in the stands. I go up and she is doing great taking it all in. She sits in my lap and sucks her thumb with her blanket. At the end of the 1st quarter I take her down to feed her supper and then go up at the start of half time to see that it has started raining. Seriously? Who knew this would happen? Why? Why tonight? So under the stands Eliana and I go for the rest of the game. She was no longer sleepy and went wild. All the other kids were with their moms sleeping or sitting quietly. Not OUR child. She was ready to go and off she went making people laugh. She was filthy by the end of the night. Got back to Brandon’s and laid her down while she was asleep in her pack n play and she woke up screaming and coughing. Ended up spitting up lots of mucus. And yes, she and I slept in the recliner…AGAIN. It was okay. I did not even get my clothes changed or (hold your breath) teeth brushed. Long night but worth it if she was comfortable and feeling okay. It is amazing what you do for your kids. I now know.

So, we are home and I am about to go to bed. I will post pics from the game later on. I have to get the site updated.

The weekend was low key and I was happy about that. Craig bought a new weedeater. He was proud of it. Me? I just want to buy a HAAN. Tomorrow night we have a showing of our house. I am excited about it.

Eliana has enjoyed going to the pool. I bought her a float at Target. She enjoyed playing and splashing. She has learned to wave bye and waves to EVERYONE! She has also learned how to yell really loud. I may be using the services of my workplace sooner than I thought!
